Dock Assistant

Job Description of Dock Assistant:

As a Dock Assistant at FedEx, your primary responsibility will be managing the loading and unloading of freight from trucks, sorting items, and ensuring that shipments are handled correctly.This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to operate machinery, such as forklifts, to move freight safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of Dock Assistant:

• Utilize adequate tools for loading and unloading freight onto trucks and trailers
• Keep the dock area free from debris, safe, and well-maintained.
• Carry out safety protocols and guidelines diligently to promote a secure and accident-free environment.
• Assess the cargo for any possible damage and promptly alert relevant parties of any inconsistencies or concerns observed.
• Cultivate effective communication methods with team members and supervisors to promote transparency and understanding in the workplace.

Requirements of Dock Assistant:

• It is preferred that candidates have completed high school or an equivalent.
• Previous background in dock labor, warehouse functions
• Exceptional precision and strong organizational proficiency.
• Must have the ability to be flexible with working hours
