Freight Forklift Handler

Job Description of Freight Forklift Handler:

The Freight Forklift Handler at FedEx is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload heavy items and pallets within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, the ability to operate machinery safely, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Your duties will include transporting materials to and from storage areas, ensuring that items are stored safely and efficiently, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities of Freight Forklift Handler:

• Perform daily safety checks on forklifts, identifying and communicating any necessary repairs or malfunctions to the relevant department.
• Hoist and position weighty objects like pallets and crates onto trucks, shelves, or storage sections.
• Ensure that products are neatly arranged in storage spaces to optimize storage capacity and uphold a sense of organization
• Recognize and catalog items that have suffered damage or been delivered incorrectly.
• Contribute to general warehouse functions during non-forklift operating times.
