Yard Worker

Job Description of Yard Worker:

As a Yard Worker at FedEx, your primary responsibility will be managing the loading and unloading of freight from trucks, sorting items, and ensuring that shipments are handled correctly.This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to operate machinery, such as forklifts, to move freight safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of Yard Worker:

• Employ suitable machinery for efficiently loading and unloading cargo onto trucks and trailers
• Ensure the dock area remains organized, safe, and free of clutter.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety measures and rules to avoid any incidents or physical damage.
• Review the cargo for any possible harm and swiftly report any irregularities or issues detected.
• Cultivate effective communication methods with team members and supervisors to promote transparency and understanding in the workplace.

Requirements of Yard Worker:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in dock work, warehouse operations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours
